Introduction:
Kaivan Munshi is a development economist with a particular interest in the economic analysis of
non-market institutions. His research at the interface of economics and sociology is concerned with collective institutions
such as cooperatives, Roscas, community-based networks, and the family. His past research has exploited spatial variation in
wealth distribution, climatic conditions, and cultural norms to understand how collective institutions work and how they
change over time. |
